The Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Experience at LDI
The Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas is opening its doors for the first time to outside visitors as part of LDI’s Backstage Las Vegas. Over 150 students have shared in the SILV experience, with Las Vegas as its “classroom” with a growing cadre of industry friends, both in Vegas and around the world, who willingly share with SILV in their mantra of “It’s all about the Experience.”
LDI participants with SILV will begin the day with the SILV staff for breakfast and orientation for the charges day ahead of them. Then they will travel by bus through a sampler of SILV:
• Silver States Wire Rope: owner/brothers Andrew and Peter Rogers are riggers par excellence and Silver States is the rigging supplier for Cirque du Soleil’s resident and touring shows for acrobatic, automated and theatrical rigging. Their class will introduce the most critical aspects of rigging, fall arrest and safety. www.sswr.net
• AES (Advanced Entertainment Services): will deliver and detail demonstrations of the amazing effects they have developed in the areas of Indoor/Close Proximity Pyrotechnics and Special Effects for events and productions around the world. A highlight will include effects from in their own backyard - the Las Vegas production of Phantom. www.aespyro.com

• Flying by Foy (headquarters in Las Vegas) will be cap The SILV “Experience” with a class by Joe McGeough and his amazing team. They will demonstrate, share, and teach us about the evolution of their masterful techniques that has flown the likes from Peter Pan to the recently Tony nominated American Idiot.
